In this city, an afternoon of shopping can sometimes be an event. Don't get us wrong: We like cruising through SoHo incognito as much as the next lady. But taking our time on a Saturday to stroll the boutiques—or, blessed be, a department store-—is a good enough reason to raise the stakes. In fact, it was on a random weekend near Saks in midtown that we spotted this lovely local. We got totally on-board with her mix of classics (great trench, sailor T, easy trousers) but she made them a bit more interesting thanks to a pair of sleek Loeffler Randall platforms and a sweet satin bow belt. The best part? A get-up this cute makes passing by all those shop mirrors a whole lot nicer.

Here's how to get the look:

1. Belted Trench: If you don't have one in your closet, pick up this sharp shooter until you can splurge on the Burberry.

2. Striped T: Don't care how many stripes you own, this baby is a springtime staple for cheap.

3. Twin Pant Trouser: Right now, these universally awesome pants are a non-negotiable.

4. Nude Slingback: This blushy beige tone is definitely summer's basic black.
